You should know that I love football and so does R. We both graduated from West Virginia University and don't miss a game. R is a Redskins fan which he tries to rub off on me and it is working for the most part. I grew up in Indiana, so I grew up rooting for the Colts.
Anyway, we traveled to the Capital Hill area a few Sundays ago. We took the Metro to the Eastern Market stop. From there we walked a block or so before we hit some bars and restaurants. Marty's Bar (527 8th Street, near E) was a good stop. I was expecting a local bar with terrible food, but got the opposite. They have plenty of beer on tap- I don't suggest the Shock Top unless you like orange juice beer (yes I am a girl and I love beer!). We ordered lunch, again I wasn't expecting gourmet. I got a amazing southwest salad with avacado, tomatoe, jalapeno, chicken, sour cream, salsa, black beans, and peppers. Yum! I would suggest Marty's for hanging out and watching football. Then we found an Irish Pub on 8th and G called Finn Mac Cool's. Marty's had lots of TV's, but Finn's had a big wall screen. It was a lively place with fans from every walk of life. It would be a good spot for an after work drink, a Sunday game, or even Friday night. They have drink specials too.

and around Washington DC. I moved to the area six months ago and have been looking for a site to guide my adventures. I have not had much luck. The papers have some exciting events and there are sites for tourists looking to experience the nation's capital, but nothing for us who live here. My blog will cover restaurants, movies, shows, museums, concerts, etc. I will let you know exactly where you should go for somewhere fun.
