Today I will be reviewing my two favorite breweries- Rock Bottom & Capitol City.

Located in Ballston, inside the mall. This restaurant has good food and great beer! I can't find much to complain about here. While most breweries have 'bar food', Rock Bottom has an upscale feel to the classics like Mac & Cheese and Mahi Tacos. They may not have the best happy hour specials around, but this place is always fun. Try the Radiotower Red or El Jefe Hefeweizen. If you go on Fridays, it is $5 for a 22oz mug with free refills.

Located in Shirlington. $5 appetizers until 7pm is hard to beat. I also thoroughly enjoy the Amber Waves beer. This is a great spot for a low key evening especially when it is nice enough to sit out on the patio. Don't expect much from the food though- the Porter Cheese Pretzel and Barbecue Nachos aren't bad.
